The primary partners for the project are the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. Members of the Project Advisory Team include representation from the following: the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia (the Administrative Office of the Courts), the Virginia Community Criminal Justice Association (prisons and jails and pretrial services), the Virginia Association of Community Services Boards, the Virginia Department of Social Services (community services), the Virginia State Police (law enforcement/High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area [HIDTA]), the Virginia Association of Counties (local representation), the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission (public defender), the Virginia Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security, the Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Resources, the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police, the Virginia Association of Regional Jails, the Virginia Department of Corrections, the Virginia Department of Health/Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the Virginia Department of Health Professions/Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, consumer representation, medical treatment providers, and local groups such as the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug Task Force and other community-based coalitions located in HIDTA designations.
