Best Practices

Across the country, teams of practitioners and researchers are advancing innovative strategies to reduce the number of opioid fatalities through the implementation and enhancement of specific areas of focus, including diversion and alternatives to incarceration programs, multidisciplinary partnerships, peer recovery support services, and a more holistic view of PDMP operations and best practices. Evaluation of these projects and approaches provides meaningful insights into solving local, state, or regional challenges; contributes to the national body of knowledge, best practices, and information; and speeds time to adoption for communities interested in replicating successful initiatives. This area highlights those best strategies and promising practices and, it is hoped, strengthens the valuable peer-to-peer network for COAP grantees and the wider practitioner community.

Best practices will be added to this page as they are identified through the COAP Grantee Sites and other partners.
