The goal of this project is to utilize Ohio’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) to support cross-system collaboration and data sharing among law enforcement, prescribers, and treatment professionals to reduce opioid misuse. Ohio’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, known as “OARRS,” is operated by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy, which intends to use federal funds to implement a precriminal intervention program that uses data from OARRS to identify individuals who may be abusing substances and connect them with appropriate drug treatment and other support services. The board also intends to improve clinical decisionmaking by identifying and flagging drug court participants in OARRS. The board plans to collaborate with the Supreme Court of Ohio to report active drug court participants to OARRS.
